Make Nine 2022 – Knit/Crochet

It’s time for Make Nine 2022!

I love the start of the year. I mean who doesn’t? A time to plan and refresh your brain. I also really love making lists, so it is exciting for me at the beginning of the year to set some goals (whether or not I am going to achieve them!).

This year, I am splitting up my makes into sewing and knit/crochet. Just because I have so much I want to get done! (Warning sign already! haha). My Make Nine 2022 consists of knit/crochet projects just for me (those for others are not included). One of my goals for 2022 is to not buy any new yarn – but have no fear, I stocked up last year! Most of these makes I purchased from Lion Brand during a 40% off kits sale in the Fall!

Make Nine #1: Make A Statement Scarf

Pattern: Woods & Wool
Yarn: Hue and Me (Lion Brand)

I have been eyeing this pattern up since Melissa release it on IG. I went with the same colours (Bellini, Desert, Peacoat, Spicy, Agave, & Cement) that they used, because, OMG. Even though my list says ‘knits’, this is crochet. I absolutely love the colour combos and stitch used in this scarf

Make Nine #2: Pathways Camisole

Pattern: Two of Wands
Yarn: Truboo Yarn (Lion Brand) in Mushroom

I made my first summer fibre garment last year and I love it. (This short sleeve crochet top) So I added a few summer items to the list for this year. I have always wanted to work with Truboo Yarn, so I am excited to see how this one comes together.

Make Nine #3: Summerlin Cardi

Pattern: Gorilla Knits
Yarn: Comfy Cotton Blend (Lion Brand) in Mochaccino

Another fun summer project, this short sleeve cardigan features a textured stitch that I loved! And it’s made with cotton yarn, so should be great for the warmer weather!

Make Nine #4: Stepping Stones

Pattern: Hanks and Needles
Yarn: Wool Ease (Lion Brand) in Grey Heather

Who doesn’t love a cozy afghan? This one is going to be a task for sure, but I can plug away at it hoping it is ready for next Winter! I’ve used a lot of Wool Ease this year (winter hats) and love working with it!

Make Nine #5: Piper Sweater

Pattern: Originally Lovely
Yarn: Comfy Cotton Blend (Lion Brand) in Whipped Cream and Chai Latte

This two-toned knit sweater was too hard to pass up. I love the alternating colours. Another cotton yarn, so I’m sure this will be great for all seasons.

Make Nine #6: Opal Tank

Pattern: Two of Wands
Yarn: Coboo (Lion Brand) in Silver

Another summer knit and yarn that I have also been curious about. This is racer back style and looser fit, so it’s going to be perfect for summer!

Make Nine #7: The Weekender Light

Pattern: Drea Renee Knits
Yarn: Knit Picks Palette (colour way TBD)

I’ve had this pattern for a bit. I stocked up on Palette yarn last year so I think it would be perfect for this sweater. It’s light, but will be warm with the wool content, so a great fall/winter knit.

Make Nine #8: Copenhagen Cardi

Pattern: Lilla Bjorn
Yarn: Knit Picks Palette

I fell in love with this cardigan as soon as I saw it. It is a crochet patten with lots of lace detailing down the front. I actually started this last year, but didn’t like how it was turning out with the yarn, so I need to do a few more swatches to see if it I need to switch up my yarn choice.

#9 BONUS

I’m going to leave one blank spot as I haven’t quite decided what my final Make Nine 2022 will be and I want to have some freedom later in the year!
